As you may know, the respiratory system has a very important part in it; the lungs, which makes us breathe. It takes in oxygen and exhales carbon dioxide.

People with anxiety have panic attacks or anxiety attacks often, which impacts the respiratory system. When the person is in a situation where they have sudden feelings of intense terror, they can start breathing extremely fast. They will have short, shallow breaths.
